Ezorine's Story

Hello my name is Ezorine Brandon Jones.  I come from a family of 6 siblings being the youngest girl.  At the age of 45 a vision was placed in my head while taking a shower that I had a lump in my right breast.  It felt as though the lump was so large that it was protruding the breast. Once I got out of the shower I looked in the mirror and didn’t see anything protruding.  Then, I was led to put two fingers together and deeply pressed on the right side of my right breast and went directly to the lump.  The lump felt like a soft small piece of fat about the size of a pea.  I immediately called my doctor the next day to request a diagnostic mammogram.  A normal mammogram screening and diagnostic screening was performed on September 1, 2009 along with a breast biopsy.  After receiving the pathology results of Invasive Duct Carcinoma on September 4th, my journey for breast cancer began.  The treatment plan consisted of lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation.  Needless to say I was devastated after the call.  I followed up with a general surgeon for a lumpectomy.  After surgery, aggressive chemotherapy and radiation was recommended.  I had 4 treatments of chemo over several months and 6 1/2 weeks of radiation.  My treatments ended on 3/2/2010.  I was looking forward to getting back to work and in the swing of things.  Unfortunately, the aggressive chemo affected my memory permanently and changed my life completely but thank God I am cancer free!!!! Currently, I still have struggles but my good days outweigh my bad days, so I say Thank you Lord, I won't complain!
